![]() Fedora I chose because of its enterprise-focused nature. So one can bet that it packs the power needed for the professional office environment. RPMs are wide-spread, so that helps, too! I find it more stable (albeit less convenient) than Ubuntu and Debian distros, as well as faster and more securew in some aspects. If you’re worried about keeping the OS lightweight -and many of us designers do because of the heaviness of graphics programs – I highly suggest Xubuntu for beginners or Bodhi Linux for Intermediate/Advanced users. ![]() Both are Debian/Ubuntu -based distros, however, so keep that in mind.I've used a number of Xara products in their web site creation products. This isn't bad, but it gets clumsy as the site grows, and as an occasional user, it can be awkward. I'm not doing anything complex and only use a fraction of Xara's features, yet, I am looking for something else. I've had good luck with copy and paste of "very standard HTML" from my old sites into Xara program. I had to do some tweaks, and a few tables and such would not import, but over ok there. KompoZer is a web editor that is very similar in terms of look and feel to Dreamweaver. I'm having problems exporting this to any other program, thus my main gripe now is that once you use it, you are welded and stuck with it. Dreamweaver has more bells and whistles but this has most of the basics you need and it’s included with the service, no need to buy and install expensive software on your computer. KompoZer can edit files locally or FTP publish. It seems many web page creation programs are like that, so take care with them all. Being able to export to other editors in the future is a key issue here, and with other programs too. I think this is good to start and good for small sites.įor a true bare bones beginner, try Kompozer or other older free product to learn. As I said, I'm looking for a replacement of Xara now. As a note, I've used far worse, so Xara may be a good choice for others, and if the needs are modest, this seems good. ![]() Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal, Shankar Singh Raghuvanshi. It has many import options, and I need to do a makeover of a big, text-intensive site. Composer (s) : Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal, Shankar Singh Raghuvanshi. Singer (s) : Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle, Prabodh Chandra Dey (Manna Dey) Right Click On Songs Name & then Click On Save target As. Firstly, the import loses all links, unless you bring in RTF. Secondly, it works with a page metaphor, "pages" really being text boxes, and their length is limited, both within the program, and more critically with what happens when you export to a website. As with many of these CSS-type positioning programs, long CSS text boxes seem to be minced when browsers decode them. Thirdly, trying to import files with tables gives unpredictable or missing results. Fourthly, when I tried to republish an imported html article, it gave an "out of memory message" and didn't spit out half the file. If you want to make a site with short "pages" and pretty graphics, Xara may well work fine for you.
